On June 18th at approximately 2:00a.m. Officer Keron Bryce observed a motor vehicle violation at the intersection of Arch Street and Fitch Street. A motor vehicle stop was conducted.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Officer Bryce detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside. A subsequent search of the operator of the vehicle, Dennis Wilborne, and the interior of the vehicle led to the discovery of multiple bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, $417.00 and a loaded .380 handgun. Wilborne was promptly arrested and transported to police headquarters.

Hamden Police arrested Dennis Wilborne, 29, of 88 Parkside Drive, New Haven. He was charged with Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Sell, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and No Turn Signal. Wilborne, who was detained on a $10,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on June 18th.
