On June 19th at approximately 8:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to Goodrich Street on the report of a street robbery.

Investigation revealed that a 31 year-old Willimantic man arranged a “sexual encounter” through a dating app. Upon arriving at a Dudley Street residence, Romeik Best and Lamar Parker demanded money from the victim. The victim, who refused the request, was briefly detained, threatened and “pushed” several times. His credit cards were stolen during the robbery.

Hamden Police conducted further investigation, which led to the arrests of Best and Parker. They were arrested at Best’s Dudley Street address.

Hamden Police arrested:

Romeik Best, 25, of 56 Dudley Street, Hamden. He was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Robbery in the 2nd Degree and Breach of Peace. Best, who was detained on a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 3, 2018.

Lamar Parker, 20, of 18 Richard Street, Ansonia. He was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Robbery in the 2nd Degree and Breach of Peace. Parker, who was detained on a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 3, 2018.
