On March 17, 2018 Hamden Police responded to a motor vehicle accident, a “rollover”, that occurred in the vicinity of 1400 Whitney Avenue.
Investigation revealed that Quinne Davis was operating a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed. Davis subsequently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to strike a utility pole and then rollover. Two small children (ages 8 and 11 months) were injured in the accident and transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. The 8 year-old suffered serious injuries. Further investigation revealed that the children were not properly restrained in their car seats.
Officer Eric Hallstrom conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Quinne Davis. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On August 2, 2018 Hamden Police arrested Quinne Davis, 34, of 15 James Street, Waterbury. He was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree with a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree, 2 counts of Risk of Injury to a Child, Reckless Driving and Transporting a Child Less Than 6 Years Old without a Restraint. Davis, who was detained on a court-ordered $10,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on August 16th.
