On August 28, 2018 at approximately 12:30a.m. Hamden Police responded to a Wilkins Street residence on the report of “tampering with a motor vehicle.”

Investigation revealed that Mohamed Arafah walked onto the property of a Wilkins Street resident and attempted to forcibly enter his motor vehicle. Moments later, Officer Jinett Marte observed Arafah in the vicinity of Paramount Avenue and Violet Street. Witnesses advised police that Arafah attempted to gain entry into several parked vehicles. Arafah was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters.

Hamden Police arrested Mohamed Arafah, 18, of 102 Waldorf Avenue, Bridgeport. He was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree and Interfering with a Police Officer. Arafah, who was detained on a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on September 11, 2018.
