On September 8, 2018 at approximately 2:30p.m. Hamden Police responded to West Woods Road on the report of a domestic dispute. A witness had advised police that a female “was getting assaulted and choked on the front lawn.”

Investigation revealed that Aaron Farrar and his 37 year-old girlfriend were traveling inside of a motor vehicle. They were involved in a verbal dispute. The female victim attempted to jump out of the vehicle. Farrar subsequently exited the vehicle and began choking, punching and slapping the victim on the front lawn of an area resident. A 51 year-old neighbor, who witnessed the assault, came to the aid of the victim and stopped the beating. Hamden Police arrested Farrar, who was attempting to flee in his vehicle. The victim suffered head and neck injuries.

Hamden Police arrested Aaron Farrar, 67, of 1187 Campbell Avenue, Apartment 202, West Haven. He was charged with Strangulation in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 3rd Degree and Breach of Peace. Farrar, who was detained on a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court today.

Officer Edward Stoor conducted the investigation.
