On September 12, 2018 the Hamden Police Department Traffic Division and members of the Connecticut State Police Truck Squad conducted selective enforcement throughout the Town of Hamden. The focus of the enforcement was to ascertain if “heavy duty trucks,” traveling throughout Hamden, were in compliance with state law.

Officers conducted enforcement at various locations, including Whitney Avenue/Route 40 Connector, Sherman Avenue, Pine Rock Avenue/Arch Street and Davis Street. Numerous trucks were stopped and found to be in compliance.

The following enforcement action was taken:

- 25 infractions were issued for various violations. The fines totaled approximately $20,000.00
- 2 misdemeanor summonses were issued
- 2 “Full Inspections” were performed
- 4 vehicles were deemed unsafe and taken out of service
- 2 trailers were towed
- 2 trucks were overweight
