On September 17, 2018 at approximately 3:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to Krauszer’s Food Store, 36 Fairview Avenue on the report of an assault.
Investigation revealed that Regina Solomon was upset at the price of a sandwich. She then proceeded behind the deli counter and began yelling at the clerk about the amount of meat in the sandwich. Solomon and an unidentified male then attempted to exit the store without paying for the sandwich and a calzone.
The store owner attempted to intervene. Solomon subsequently “grabbed a belt off the rack” and began hitting him multiple times. The unidentified male, who is described as a tall black male with braided hair, punched the store owner numerous times. The store owner sustained injuries to his arms and hands.
Shortly after Officer Jennifer King identified Solomon, she (Solomon) was arrested.
Hamden Police arrested Regina Solomon, 32, of 37 Wayfarer Street, New Haven. She was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree, Assault in the 2nd Degree and Larceny in the 6th Degree. Solomon, who was released after posting a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on October 2nd.
Anyone with information about the unidentified male, please contact Officer Jennifer King at (203) 230-4030.
