On September 23, 2018 Hamden Police responded to a Dixwell Avenue residence on the report of a past-tense assault. The assault occurred on September 22nd.

Investigation revealed that a 16 year-old Hamden resident entered a Connecticut Transit bus in the vicinity of Dixwell Avenue and Putnam Avenue. She reported that a passenger, described as a black female, 40 years of age, 5’9”, heavy build, wearing a jean jacket, began provoking her. According to the teen, the above described woman made demeaning statements towards her. The woman then attacked her. She first first threw a cup of soda at her. She then “struck her an unknown amount of times with closed fist punches.” The juvenile was also bit on the forearm by the woman. The juvenile sustained injuries to her neck, face and arm. She was transported to a medical facility for treatment by a family member.
