On September 13, 2018 Hamden Police responded to a “fight in progress” on Augur Street. A participant in the fight, a 17 year-old Hamden resident, advised officers that she was the victim of an armed robbery that occurred on September 11th. It is unclear if there is a connection between the fight and the armed robbery.

Officer Derick Manning conducted an investigation, which focused on the armed robbery. Investigation revealed that the teen was traveling in a motor vehicle that was operated by Taezham Brewer. Brewer “pulled off the road” on Deepwood Drive and pointed a firearm at her. He subsequently stole $50.00 and then ordered her out of the vehicle.

Officer Manning submitted an arrest warrant application to the court for Brewer. The court approved the arrest warrant application.

On September 28th Hamden Police arrested Taezhan Brewer, 18, of 266 Peck Street, New Haven. He was charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree and Larceny in the 2nd Degree. Brewer, who was detained on a court-ordered $75,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on October 12th.
