On October 7, 2018 at approximately 4:45p.m. Hamden Police responded to Bed Bath and Beyond, 2045 Dixwell Avenue on the report of a larceny/fraud.

Investigation revealed that an individual, described as a black female, 5’5”, medium build, wearing a blue denim shirt purchased “high-end bedding items” with counterfeit $100.00 bills.

The store manager advised police that approximately 3 hours earlier, an individual, described as a black male, 6’2”, thin build, wearing a green jacket attempted to return “high-end bedding items” that were stolen from the Milford store. When questioned by store personnel, he promptly fled on foot.

Store management advised police that there has been “a ring of individuals” using counterfeit currency to purchase high priced items at local Bed Bath and Beyond establishments.
