On October 9, 2018 at approximately 6:30a.m. Hamden Police responded to the report of suspicious activity in the area of Newhall Street and Augur Street. The caller reported that a male, who was in the possession of a knife, was “pacing back and forth.”

Moments later, Officer Keron Bryce arrived and observed Jason Murphy with a knife in his hands. Murphy was subsequently arrested and transported to police headquarters. A search of Murphy led to the discovery of a box cutter in his pocket.

Later, officers learned that Murphy was wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant originating out of Hamden.

Hamden Police arrested Jason Murphy, 37, of 670 Newhall Street, Hamden. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct. Murphy, who was detained on a $10,000.00 bond, was arraigned at Meriden Superior Court later in the day.
