On July 17, 2022, at approximately 6:30 PM, Hamden Police Officers responded to the area of Blue Hills Avenue and Noble Court on reports of shots fired and a single vehicle car accident. Witnesses reported that there was an exchange of gunfire between an individual walking and an occupant of a vehicle that crashed at the intersection into a residential stone wall. Two occupied houses were struck during the gunfire and there were no reported injuries. Detective Mark Sheppard conducted an extensive investigation into the shooting.
On August 7, 2022, Hamden Police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile from Hamden in connection with the shooting. He was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault 1st Degree and held at the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court for Juvenile Matters on August 19, 2022.
