On October 5, 2022, Hamden Police charged a 16-year-old female in connection with a shooting investigation that occurred on Butler Street on September 24th.
On September 24, 2022 at approximately 10:00 PM, Hamden Police Officers responded to the area of Butler Street and Goodrich Street on multiple reports of shots fired. The preliminary investigation revealed that there was a shooting between multiple individuals. Police also discovered that a gunshot victim was inside her Butler Street residence at the time of the shooting. She was struck by a bullet that penetrated the wall of her house and suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder. It did not appear that she was the intended target of the shooting.
The juvenile was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. She was held on a Take into Custody Order and transported to Bridgeport Juvenile Detention.
