On October 27, 2022, Domenico Esperti, age 83 of Hamden, turned himself into Hamden Police on an outstanding arrest warrant in regards to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian.
The charges stem from an accident that occurred on May 18, 2022 on Paradise Avenue. Responding officers located the victim in the roadway. She was later identified as Shauna Devlin, age 37 of Hamden. Devlin was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Sergeant Brett Ferrara of the Hamden Police Department’s Traffic Division conducted an extensive investigation into the accident. The investigation revealed that the victim was struck by a vehicle that left the scene after the collision. Police later recovered the suspect vehicle in the area of Hume Drive and determined that Esperti was operating the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Domenico Esperti was charged with evading responsibility and interfering with police. Bond was set at $10,000.00 and Esperti is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior on November 17, 2022.
