On October 11, 2018 at approximately 8:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Woodin Street on the report of an armed street robbery.

Investigation revealed that a 17 year-old Hamden resident, walked into an “alley way” with 2 acquaintances. One of his acquaintances “pulled out a black handgun”, and placed it into his stomach. They then stole his cellular telephone and credit cards. He was then “punched in the head’ and fell to the ground. Hamden Fire Rescue responded and rendered medical assistance.

On October 23rd Hamden Police made a second arrest pertaining to this incident. The New Haven Police Department detained a 17 year-old Hamden resident on the strength of an arrest warrant. Hamden Police subsequently took custody of the juvenile and placed him under arrest. He was charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the 1st Degree, Larceny in the 2nd Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the 2nd Degree. The juvenile was transported to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven on November 6th.
