The Hamden Police Department is proud to announce the next session of the “Citizen’s Police Academy.” The purpose of this exciting and intense program is to provide local residents, business/property owners and college students with pertinent information, as it relates to the function and activities of the Hamden Police Department. The goal of this program is to increase public awareness and build community rapport through education and conversation.
The Hamden Citizen’s Police Academy will cover a vast array of topics, most likely including: patrol procedures, major crime investigations, crime scene techniques, crime prevention, ethics and integrity, use of force, cultural awareness, computer crimes and a police K-9 demonstration.
Applications must be submitted to the Hamden Police Department, 2900 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, Connecticut 06518 no later than 4:00p.m. on February 1, 2023. Applications can be obtained online at the Hamden Police Department web page or at various town buildings including, police headquarters, town hall and local libraries.
