On December 2nd, 2022, at 6:00pm, Hamden Police Responded to Thomas Street for the report of a welfare check. The caller stated they were concerned for the safety of a female coworker, who had not reported to work in several days.
During the course of the investigation, the female was located, unharmed, at The Best Way Inn, 45 Pond Lily Avenue in New Haven. Also located was Michael Cox, age 50, out of New Haven. Hamden Dispatch advised that Cox had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Hamden, with a $100,000 bond. Cox was also wanted for a Parole Violation, and was ultimately taken into custody by Parole.
Officer Kevin Cugini conducted the investigation, along with Officer Luisangel Valdovinos, Officer Michael Vivenzio and Sergeant Matthew Barbuto. No one was injured during this incident.
