On December 9th, 2022, at approximately 2:45pm, Hamden Police Detectives were patrolling the area of Dixwell Avenue and Putnam Avenue, when Detective Andrew Lipford observed a vehicle weaving in and out of traffic in an erratic manor, almost colliding with several vehicles. The suspect dropped the handgun while he was running, and was apprehended a short distance away. Sergeant Jomo Crawford and Officer Devon Bonds also assisted in the investigation. No one was injured during the incident.
