On January 22, 2023, the Hamden Police Department responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Mather Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, the complainant stated that he was in the parking lot of 7-Eleven, located at 1795 Dixwell Avenue, when a gold Ford Explorer almost backed into his vehicle.
The complainant advised that the rear passenger in the gold Ford Explorer rolled down the window and pointed a gun at him. Both vehicles left the parking lot heading South on Dixwell Avenue. The complainant stated that when they reached the intersection of Dixwell Avenue and Mather St, the same rear passenger in the gold Ford Explorer fired several rounds at his vehicle. No one was injured during the incident
