On March 11th, at 11:14 pm, Hamden Police Officers responded to 60 Connolly Parkway (Wilbur Cross Commons) for a report of a shooting with one reported victim. This address is an industrial park containing several buildings and businesses. Officers determined that gunshots had been fired and a male subject was shot. He was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital and was pronounced deceased. Firearms were located on scene and have been seized as evidence. The Hamden Police Department is working in coordination with the State’s Attorney’s Office on this active and ongoing investigation. No one has been charged in the shooting incident at this time.

Detectives from the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Unit and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to investigate. During the course of the investigation, the Hamden Police Department determined that a party was held within the complex, and at one point, a male subject became engaged in a physical confrontation with others, and was shot.

The male victim was identified as Anthony Pearson, a 39 year old New Haven resident. This appears to be an isolated incident that occurred as a result of a family dispute. Those involved remained on scene and were interviewed by Hamden Police Department Detectives. At this time, we are not looking for anyone in connection to this incident.

Acting Chief of Police Timothy Wydra would like to commend the Officers who responded and encountered a very chaotic shooting scene. Officers were able to intervene and calmly managed an active critical incident, and also rendered medical assistance and treatment to the victim. There were bystanders who should also be commended for their assistance in providing attempted life saving measures of Mr. Pearson.
