On April 19th, 2023, members of the Hamden Police Department Crime Deterrent Unit and Intelligence Unit worked together with the New Haven Shooting Task Force on a narcotics investigation in the area of Goodrich Street and Shelton Avenue. As a result of the investigation, Clayton Carney, 46 of Hamden, was arrested for an active Failure to Appear Arrest Warrant. Carney was also found to be in possession of cocaine and a 9mm handgun.
Carney was taken into custody and charged with Failure to Appear, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Illegal Alteration of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit and Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell.
