On April 21st 2023, members of the Hamden Police Department Crime Deterrent Unit and Intelligence Unit, along with the New Haven Shooting Task Force worked together with the Drug Enforcement Administration on a narcotics investigation in the area of State Street and Park Street.
During the course of the investigation, Tyrice White, 47 of New Haven, evaded police after a drug transaction. White was located and found to be in possession of 10 fentanyl tablets, 73 grams of heroin, 12 grams of powdered cocaine, 29 grams of crack cocaine and over $1,000 in cash.
White was charged with Engaging Police in a Pursuit, Possession of Narcotics and Possession of Narcotics with Intent to sell. White was held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in early May.
