On November 1, 2018 at approximately 5:30p.m. Hamden Police responded to Hair Beauty Supply, 1869 Dixwell Avenue on the report of shoplifting.

Investigation revealed that Monica Massiah entered a room, located in the rear of the store, and stole 2 boxes containing “human hair wigs.” Massiah fled from the store, while the store manager was in foot pursuit. Massiah attempted to kick the store manager in the stomach. She then fled in her motor vehicle, northbound on Dixwell Avenue.

Shortly thereafter, Massiah turned herself in at police headquarters. Massiah, 55, of 105 Grandview Avenue, Hamden was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree and Larceny in the 6th Degree. She is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on November 13th.
