Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident
On June 1st, 2023 at 3:30am, The Hamden Police Department responded to the area of Morse Street and Winchester Avenue for a report of a two car motor vehicle accident involving a scooter and a Nissan Sentra. Officer Taequan Mitchell arrived on scene and located the operator of the scooter, Tanisha Wilson, 36 of New Haven, unresponsive on the ground. Wilson was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The operator of the Nissan Sentra, Ocie Rivers, 32 of Hamden, remained on scene and did not report any injuries. The Hamden Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Sgt.
