On October 19th, 2023 at approximately 8:45pm, Hamden Police Officers responded to the area of 1686 State Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, the complainant stated that she heard four to five gun shots in the front of her home. Officers were able to obtain surveillance video of the incident.
The initial investigation revealed that there were two dark colored sedans traveling North on State Street. The second vehicle is then seen firing shots at the first vehicle and seven shots in total were heard on the video. After the shots are fired, the first vehicle continues North on State Street, while the second vehicle does and U-turn and travels South on State Street.
Detectives from the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Unit as well as the Crime Scene Unit responded to process the scene. Six shell casings were recovered on scene. At this time it does not appear that there are any injures, and nothing was struck.
