On 01/15/24 Hamden Police Officers responded to #5 Hampton Road on a welfare check. Officers discovered two deceased persons at the residence.
The victims were determined to be husband and wife. The female victim is identified as Patricia Petrini age 76. The male victim is identified as Francis Petrini age 80. Both resided at #5 Hampton Road.
On 01/26/24 Hamden Detectives received a report from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner regarding this incident. The cause of death for Patricia Petrini, age 76, was a gunshot wound and was determined to be a homicide. The cause of death for Francis Petrini, age 80, was a gunshot wound and was determined to have been self-inflicted.
This was an isolated domestic incident. There is no danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing.
