On 01/31/24 Hamden Police Officers responded to a report of a single car motor vehicle accident in the area of 375 Mather Street. The report was that a vehicle, a 2013 Jeep color black, was off the road and into Lake Whitney.
Responding Officers located the vehicle in the water. Officers spoke with the operator of the vehicle who reported that he swerved to avoid a deer and drove into the water. The operator was not injured and was able to remove himself from the vehicle without aid. The operator was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation due to the frigid temperatures.
The Regional Water Authority was notified and responded to the scene.
