Throughout the months February and March of 2025 The Hamden Police Department Intelligence Unit, Crime Intervention Unit and Major Crimes Unit investigated complaints regarding illegal sales of marijuana in Hamden.
On 03/10/25 search and seizure warrants were executed at the Made in Greenwood Smoke Shop, 1164 Dixwell Ave. and Connecticut Business Institute, 1160 Dixwell Ave. in Hamden. Evidence recovered included illegal marijuana products, narcotics as well as two illegal firearms (photographs below).
This is an open investigation. Hamden Police Sergeant Manfield, Officer Vivenzio and Officer Miniaci lead this investigation. Anyone with further information is asked to call the Hamden Police Department at 203-230-4000.

As a result of this investigation the following (2) arrests were made on 03/10/25:
-Bennie Murphy DOB 05/08/1990: Held in lieu of a $150,000.00 surety bond.
CGS 53a-217 - Criminal possession of a firearm
CGS 29-35 – Carrying a pistol without a permit
CGS 53-132a – Altering/Obliterating firearm serial number
CGS 21a-279(a) - Possession of Narcotics (2 Counts)
CGS 21a-277(a) - Possession of Narcotics WITS (2 Counts)
CGS 21a-257 - Failure to keep prescription pills in Original Container
-Michael Beverley DOB 04/30/1992: Held in Lieu of a $75,000.00 Surety Bond.
Possession Controlled Substance C.G.S. 21a-279(a)(1))
Possession Of a Narcotic With Intent To Sell (C.G.S. 21a-278(b1A*+)).
Evidence Seized in this investigation:
-9mm SCCY CPX-1 handgun (obliterated serial#)

-9 mm Polymer 80 (Ghost Gun) with 9 mm extended magazine:

Marijuana products and narcotics:
- Marijuana and marijuana based products
- Psilocybin products
- Fentanyl
- Ziploc bags containing crack cocaine
- Ziploc bags containing powder Cocaine
- Ziploc bags containing Ibuprofen, Gabapentin and Cyclobenzaprine pills
- Clear plastic sandwich bag containing multicolored fentanyl pills.
- Suboxone packages
- (2) glass bottles containing hashish
