11/21/2018 - 11/19/18 Attempted Larceny-Threatening – Stop and Shop – Attempt to Identify

On November 17, 2018 Hamden Police responded to Stop and Shop, 2335 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of shoplifting, involving a threat.

Investigation revealed that an individual, described as a black male, heavy build, mustache and beard, exited the store without paying for three hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise. A loss prevention officer attempted to detain the individual. The individual subsequently left the stolen merchandise in the parking lot. He then told the loss prevention officer that he was in the possession of a firearm and that he would shoot him. The loss prevention officer immediately retreated.
