On November 26, 2018 at approximately 8:30a.m. Hamden Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Arch Street on a welfare check. Central Communications advised officers that someone had observed a male sleeping inside of a motor vehicle that was parked in a nearby parking lot.
Moments later, officers briefly spoke with the individual, who was seated inside of a black Nissan Maxima. The individual immediately started his vehicle and quickly exited the parking lot. His vehicle subsequently struck a pedestrian, a 53 year-old Hamden resident that was walking on the sidewalk. The pedestrian, who sustained “pain on his left side”, was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.
