On January 10, 2019 at approximately 10:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to a Mill Rock Road residence on the report of a violent domestic dispute.
Investigation revealed that Justin Soto, 21, forcibly entered his girlfriend’s residence by “kicking in the back door.” Once inside, Soto became in engaged in a verbal dispute with her. He then pushed her and “slapped” her in the face. She attempted to utilize her cellular telephone to call police. Soto took the phone and “smashed” it.
Hamden Police conducted an extensive search, including a K-9 track, for Soto, which was unsuccessful. Shortly thereafter, Soto turned himself in at police headquarters.
Hamden Police arrested Justin Soto, 21, of 141 Huntington Avenue, New Haven. He was charged with Burglary in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, Interfering with an Emergency Call and Disorderly Conduct. Soto, who was released after posting a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court today.
