On December 16, 2018 during the early morning hours, Hamden Police responded to Three Brothers Diner, 1038 Dixwell Avenue on the report of shots fired.

Investigation revealed that shortly after 2:00a.m., Trevon Highsmith fired multiple gunshots at an individual that was entering the diner. The individual was not injured. Highsmith subsequently entered a motor vehicle and fled southbound on Dixwell Avenue.

Detective Joseph Liguori conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Highsmith. The court approved the arrest warrant application.

On January 17, 2019 Hamden Police arrested Trevon Highsmith, 24, of 23 Level Street, New Haven. He was charged with Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit and Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree. Highsmith, who was detained on a court-ordered $100,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on January 31, 2019.
