1/22/2019 - 1/22/19-Arrest of Angel Vasquez Sr. – Sexual Assault in the 1st Degree
On January 13, 2019 Hamden Police responded to Yale-New Haven Hospital on the report of a sexual assault of a child. 

Detective Angelo DeLieto of the Hamden Police Department Special Victims Unit assumed the investigation. Detective DeLieto’s investigation led to the application of an arrest warrant for Angel Vasquez Sr. The court approved the arrest warrant application. 

Hamden Police attempted to arrest Vasquez Sr. at his residence, 29 Concord Street in Hamden. Officers learned that Vasquez Sr. “suddenly moved and cleared out his apartment.” Investigation revealed that Vasquez Sr. was attempting to gather funds to flee to Ecuador. 

Officer Andrew Lipford and members of the United States Marshals Service Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force successfully located Vasquez Sr., who was hiding in a New Haven apartment.

Hamden Police arrested Angel Vasquez Sr. 60, of 29 Concord Street, Hamden. He was charged with Sexual Assault in the 1st Degree and Risk of Injury to a Minor. Vasquez Sr., who was detained on a court-ordered $250,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on February 4, 2019.
