Earlier today the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Liquor Control Commission, along with the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team responded to Clubhouse Café, 3816 Whitney Avenue. The Liquor Control Commission has suspended the liquor license for the Clubhouse Café indefinitely, pending a future hearing. A sign has been affixed to the establishment notifying customers of the suspension.

Within the past year, Hamden Police has conducted 2 “liquor compliance checks” at Clubhouse Café. On April 20, 2018, approximately 100 people, under 21 years of age, were on the premises. Police seized 42 fraudulent identifications during the liquor compliance check.

On January 25, 2019, after receiving numerous complaints, Hamden Police again conducted a liquor compliance check at Clubhouse Café. Officers issued 131 infractions for “Simple Trespass” to patrons that were under 21 years of age.

Lieutenant Gabriel Lupo of the Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team led the investigation.
