On April 7, 2019 at approximately 10:30a.m. Hamden Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and North Street on the report of a street robbery.

Investigation revealed that a 67 year-old Hamden resident was walking to her nearby church, southbound on Dixwell Avenue. She was approached by a black male, who was riding a “mountain bike.” He subsequently “ripped” her purse from her shoulder and fled southbound. The purse contained several hundred dollars and personal items. The elderly victim was not injured.

Hamden Police searched the surrounding area for the suspect. The search was unsuccessful.
