On December 22, 2018 Hamden Police responded to Edgerton Park on the report of a larceny. Detective Joseph Liguori assumed the investigation.
Investigation revealed that all of the lead coated copper flashing had been removed from “Brewster Wall.” Further investigation revealed that 42 copper flashing sections were stolen. The loss sustained by Edgerton Park is estimated at $200,000.00. The monetary figure encompasses material and labor.
Detective Liguori determined that Donald Strait and Justin Barlow were responsible for the theft. Detective Liguori submitted arrest warrant applications to the court for Strait and Barlow. The court approved the arrest warrant applications.
On April 30, 2019 Hamden Police arrested Strait and Barlow. Strait, 47, of 62 Grant Street, New Haven and Barlow, 47, of 67 Sackett Point Road, Apartment 319, North Haven were charged with Larceny in the 3rd Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief in the 1st Degree. They were both detained on a court-ordered $5,000.00 bond. They are scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on May 14th.
