The Hamden Police Department recently participated in the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s 2019 Distracted Driving High Visibility Enforcement Campaign.
Hamden Police conducted enforcement between April 2nd and April 25th. Officers were stationed at various locations, including Dixwell Avenue and Whitney Avenue.
The results of the enforcement campaign are as follows:
-
647 infractions (tickets) were issued for cell phone use/distracted driving
-
9 infractions (tickets) were issued for other motor vehicle violations
-
4 misdemeanor summonses, which require a court appearance, were issued for “Operating a Motor Vehicle under Suspension.”
The Hamden Police Department, once again, urges motorists to park in a safe location, prior to using their cell phone.
