On December 7, 2018 Hamden Police responded to OZ Korean Kitchen, 2775 Dixwell Avenue on the report of a robbery.

Investigation revealed that Sean Kane approached an employee and asked for “change.” The employee opened the cash register to assist Kane. Kane subsequently attempted to steal the contents from the cash register. The employee briefly struggled with Kane. A customer struck him with her purse, in an attempt to stop him. 

Detective Matthew Barbuto conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Kane. The court approved the arrest warrant application. 

On May 8th Officer Andrew Lipford and members of the United States Marshals Service Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Kane on Woodward Avenue in New Haven. Following his arrest, he was transported to police headquarters. 

Hamden Police arrested Sean Kane, 44, of 694 Woodward Avenue, Apartment 6, New Haven. He was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree and Larceny in the 6th Degree. Kane, who was detained on a court-ordered $20,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on May 20th.
