On May 16, 2019 at approximately 11:45 p.m. Hamden Police responded to the parking lot at 1191 Dixwell Avenue on the report of an “attempted strong-arm robbery.”

Investigation revealed that a 22 year-old Hamden resident advised police that she was walking towards Walgreens, when she was attacked by an unknown male. The male, described as a light-skinned black male, 20 to 30 years of age, 6’0 and “possibly bald” “shoved” her to the ground. The male attempted to take her purse. A witness, who observed the attempted robbery, assisted the victim by “pulling the male” off of her. The male subsequently fled on foot towards the Farmington Canal Trail.
