On May 28, 2019 at approximately 8:45p.m. Hamden Police met with a 14 year-old Ardmore Street resident on the report of a “street robbery with a knife.”
Investigation revealed that the 14 year-old victim was walking southbound on Whitney Avenue, in the vicinity of Wakefield Street. He was approached by an individual who demanded his belongings, while pointing a knife at him. The individual subsequently stole the victim’s cell phone and headphones.
Moments later, Officer Elvin Rivera arrested a 16 year-old resident of the Children’s Center. The juvenile, who was located on Waite Street, was in the possession of the stolen items.
The juvenile was charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree and Larceny in the 2nd Degree. He was transported to the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center.
