On July 6, 2019 at approximately 5:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to Walmart on the report of shoplifting.
Officer Gabriel Garcia arrived and met with a loss prevention officer, inside of the store. While inside of the store, Hamden Police was informed by a concerned citizen that an individual removed a tire valve cap from Officer Garcia’s marked police vehicle. The individual then attempted to remove air from the tire.
Moments later, officers located and arrested the individual, identified as Ryan Kiekel. Kiekel was transported to police headquarters.
Hamden Police arrested Ryan Kiekel, 35, of 775 Mix Avenue, Apartment A, Hamden. He was charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. Kiekel, who was detained on a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on July 19th.
