Officers interacted with several hundred motorists throughout the evening and early morning hours. In addition, officers distributed literature pertaining to driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

The “Sobriety Checkpoint” resulted in the following:

- Driving Under the Influence – 2 custodial arrests
- Criminal Arrests – 1 (Possession of Marijuana)
- Infractions/Misdemeanor Summonses – 56

The Hamden Police Department urges all motorists to drive sober or to designate a driver, while celebrating the Labor Day holiday.
