On December 17, 2019 at approximately 11:55p.m. a Hamden Police Officer was attempting to locate a suspect in a domestic violence incident that occurred on Mix Avenue. The officer’s police vehicle was struck by a vehicle that was operated by Michael Uihlein. Uihlein, who was traveling eastbound on Benham Street, was traveling too fast for road conditions. The officer was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with a back and shoulder injury.
An investigation was conducted and determined that Uihlein was intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.
Hamden Police arrested Michael Uihlein, 34, of 1114 Main Street, Hamden. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Improper Passing. Uihlein is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on December 27th.
