On December 22, 2019 Hamden Police responded to Hamden Laundromat, 852 Dixwell Avenue on the report of a “customer dispute. Upon arrival, officers quickly learned that an attempted street robbery had occurred.
Investigation revealed that the victim exited his vehicle and entered the laundromat. He was followed by an individual, described as a black male, 30’s, 6’, goatee, wearing a red jacket. The individual demanded money from the victim, while brandishing a box cutter. The victim refused, at which time the individual “gestured to his waist line”, indicating that he was in the possession of a firearm. When an employee called police, the individual fled on foot southbound on Dixwell Avenue.
