In July of 2019 Hamden Police responded to a Cumley Street residence on the report of burglary, involving an assault.
Investigation revealed that Frederic Cox forced entry into his former girlfriend’s residence and assaulted her. The incident occurred in front of their three children, ages 7, 6 and 4.
Officer Jay Bunnell conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Cox. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On February 26, 2020 Hamden Police arrested Cox, 29, of 304 Winthrop Avenue, New Haven. He was charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree, 3 counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor, Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree and Violation of a Protective Order. Cox, who was detained on a court-ordered $50,000.00 bond, was scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on February 27th.
