On March 17, 2020 at approximately 10:30p.m. Hamden Police responded to a Pine Rock Road residence on the report of a dispute. Central Communications advised responding officers that the dispute escalated into a physical confrontation and that one of the combatants was stabbed.
Investigation revealed that a 24 year-old Bridgeport resident was involved in a physical altercation with Daniel Maldonado-Rivera. The victim was subsequently stabbed twice in the thigh. He was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue. He was then transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.
Lieutenant Timothy Wydra apprehended Maldonado-Rivera in a nearby parking lot. He was in the possession of the knife. Maldonado-Rivera was promptly transported to police headquarters.
Hamden Police arrested Daniel Maldonado-Rivera, 21, of 256 Success Avenue, Apartment B55, Bridgeport. He was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree. Maldonado-Rivera, who was released after posting a $1,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on April 9th.
