On March 26, 2020 at approximately 4:30a.m. Hamden Police responded to Thornton Street on the report of “multiple people breaking into cars.” A concerned resident reported observing 5 males entering parked vehicles.
Moments later, officers located the 5 juveniles, who were attempting to flee from the area in 2 stolen vehicles. They were promptly arrested.
The 5 juveniles that were arrested are between 14 and 15 years of age. Three of the juveniles reside in Hamden. The others reside in Derby. Charges include Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Burglary in the 3rd Degree and Larceny in the 3rd Degree. They were all released to the custody of a parent or guardian. They are scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven at a later date.
