6/10/2020 - 6/10/20- Armed Street Robbery - Stolen Vehicle - 7 -Eleven

On June 9, 2020 at approximately 4:15a.m. Hamden Police responded to 7-Eleven, 1795 Dixwell Avenue on the report of a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers learned that the owner of the stolen vehicle was the victim of an armed street robbery.

Investigation revealed that a 38 year-old Hamden resident was “pumping gas.” She was approached by an individual, described as a black male, 15 to 16 years of age, 5’4”, 100lbs. with “dark curly hair”. The male pointed a firearm at her head. He then reached into her pocket and removed the keys to her vehicle. The male subsequently stole her vehicle, fleeing southbound on Dixwell Avenue. There were no reported injuries.
The Hamden Police Department Detective Division is continuing the investigation.
