On August 25, 2020 at approximately 12:00a.m. Hamden Police responded to Game Exchange, 2165 Dixwell Avenue on the report of a burglar alarm.
Moments later, Officer William Pesanelli observed an individual, later identified as Edward Chieppo, attempting to scale a nearby fence. Officer Pesanelli, with the assistance of Officer Kelley Cushman, subsequently arrested Chieppo. Chieppo had “dropped” several items, including electronic equipment, prior to being apprehended.
Investigation revealed that Chieppo forcibly entered Game Exchange through a rear door. Officers located and seized “numerous burglar tools.”
Hamden Police arrested Edward Chieppo, 34, of 14 Rockview Road, Hamden. He was charged with Burglary in the 1st Degree, Larceny in the 5th Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools and Interfering with a Police Officer. Chieppo, who was detained on a $50,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on September 8th.
