On November 21, 2020 at approximately 9:15a.m. Hamden Police responded to the
2200 block of State Street on the report of a stolen motor vehicle.

Investigation revealed that a Honda CRV was stolen from a parking lot of a State Street
business. The vehicle, which was unoccupied, had the keys in the ignition and was
idling.

An hour later, Hamden Police responded to the area of Dixwell Avenue and Homestead
Avenue on the report of suspicious activity. An employee at a nearby business, heard
the operator of a vehicle “beeping it’s horn frantically.” He then observed a male exit a
Nissan Rogue and run towards an awaiting Honda CRV. The Honda CRV was
observed fleeing at a high rate of speed, southbound on Dixwell Avenue. The employee
subsequently approached the abandoned Nissan Rogue and observed an infant
strapped in a car seat.

Investigation revealed that the Nissan Rogue was stolen moments earlier from the
parking lot of a service station, located on the 1600 block of Dixwell Avenue. The
operator of the Nissan Rogue had an issue with her credit card and was distracted. A
male then entered her vehicle, with the infant inside, and fled southbound on Dixwell
Avenue, before stopping shortly thereafter.

The 7 month-old infant appeared unharmed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamden Police Department at (203)
230-4000.
